I do, but only after I complete 5 simple surveys, of which each have their own prizes that can be won by completing bronze, silver, and platinum surveys!!!

Gotta rake in all that extra ad revenue before the hulkster gives his final body slam

Hahaha kinja group

I’ve never come across something like that on Gawker Media while browsing on mobile, LOL.
Have you tried Private Browsing in Firefox with Tracking Protection enabled? It’s a little slower than Chrome (at least on Android), but it cleans up Kinja pretty nicely.

Literally all I did was scroll the page and it popped up.

Does iOS have Firefox? ‘Cause I installed adblock on my mobile firefox.

I’m sure it does, but I use chrome exclusively since I need my bookmarks. I've no clue if Firefox does that

You can usually transfer everything.

There’s a chance you might have malware on your device. I’ve never seen an ad like that on any of my devices.

Yeah, that’s weird. Try Firefox if you haven’t already.

Its not gawker, it’s malware. They targeted you as a frequent visitor of gawker and used your IP to figure out what mobile ISP you use. The whole gawker and amazon bit is just there to convince you how legit they are about giving you a free iDevice, once you’ve given them you name, social, date of birth, address and bank account/credit card numbers.

Hey, that shouldn't happen. Send me an email with your browser and OS info? I'll get this fixed. Thanks!

It doesn’t, I used to have an I phone and remember that Firefox was not available. (PS I switched to Android, I like It better and I am actually posting this from mobile Firefox.

Wait, Jalopnik authors visit Oppo? And Convicts too? (Just kidding, no one really counts a BS speeding jail time offender as a con)

That looks like a bad ad or possibly malware. Definitely let the tech side know—that 10000% looks like a scam to me.
help@gawker.com, IIRC, is the address that handles ad issues like this.

I’ll try to get it through in the morning! I'll set a reminder.

I’m actually quite aware of these types of schemes, but usually through ads.

Patrick’s actually stepped in requesting me to email him, so I’ll be fulfilling his request.
I’m thinking this might be adware though.

No malware here. If there was malware on my iPhone I feel like I'd know.

Glad to hear. That’s a creepy looking thing.
(And d’oh—I think I should’ve typed helpdesk@gawker.com. That’s what I get for not looking it up, I guess.)
